Laser Cut Wood & Plywood

Baltic birch plywood is the gold standard for laser cutting — its uniform layers produce consistent cuts without voids. Hardwoods vary: maple cuts cleanly while oak's open grain can cause uneven edges. Note: We do not accept MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) due to formaldehyde off-gassing during cutting.

The laser chars wood slightly at the cut edge, creating a natural burnt-edge aesthetic many designers prefer. Masking tape on surfaces before cutting prevents smoke staining — remove it after for a clean finish. We work with wood from thin craft sheets up to ¾" thick.

Laser Cutting for Paper & Cardboard

Paper cuts with virtually no kerf and zero mechanical stress, preserving even the most delicate designs. The laser beam diameter on paper is typically 0.1–0.2mm — cuts as fine as a human hair. Speed is the key parameter: too slow and the paper scorches; optimal speed produces clean, white edges with no discoloration.

We work with paper, cardstock, cardboard, and corrugated board. Great for invitations, packaging prototypes, architectural models, pop-up cards, and stencils. For multi-layer designs, cut each layer separately and assemble afterward.

Laser Fabric Cutting

Synthetic fabrics (polyester, nylon) seal at the edge when cut because the laser melts the fibers — no fraying, no hemming needed. Natural fabrics (cotton, linen) do not seal and may show slight browning at cut edges. Blends behave somewhere in between.

We cut single layers and multi-layer stacks. Pin or tape fabric flat to prevent shifting. PVC-coated fabrics and some fire-retardant treated fabrics are off-limits due to harmful fumes.

Popular for weddings & events: laser-cut lace invitations, fabric name cards, silk ribbon lettering, felt table runners, and tulle backdrop cutouts. We work with event planners, florists, and DIY couples regularly.

Foam Board Laser Cutting

CO₂ lasers cut foam cleanly without the compression artifacts caused by die cutting or hot wire methods. EVA foam (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is the most popular for laser cutting — it cuts cleanly and holds detail well. Polyethylene foam works for packaging inserts. Polyurethane foam cuts but may discolor at edges.

We cut foam up to 2" thick depending on density. Note: Polystyrene (Styrofoam) is dangerous to laser cut — it catches fire easily and produces toxic gas. We do not cut it.
